Minutes <> 17 October, 2014

 

          The Board of Directors of Coronado Shores Condominium Association No. 10 held a regular meeting on Friday 17 October, 2014 in the Manager’s office of La Princesa Tower.

 

I.        The meeting was called to order at 9:04 AM

 

II.      Those present:       Richard Barr, President

Patrick Maurer, Vice-President

Charles Lee, Secretary/Treasurer

Jim Nix, Director

 

Steve Bennett, Building Manager

 

Mrs. Zobrist (108), Mrs. Ommer (304), Mrs. Grossman (309), Mr. Brunhart (507/605), Mrs. Lee (802), Mrs. Dudley, Mr. and Mrs. Vince (1003)

 

III.     Those absent:         Susan Shovers, Director

 

IV.     Written and Oral Communication:

                     A.  Oral Communication

                               Mr. Brunhart gave a list of his credentials and qualifications in public governance and with boards of directors.  He gave the opinion that today's Board meeting has no standing because the meeting agenda was not posted with the meeting notice in the Association's common area.  He reminded the Board that statute states that meeting agendas must be posted no later than 4 days prior to the meeting.  He outlined the purpose of a meeting agenda and stated that resolutions (votes) by the Board can only be taken on items that have been placed on the agenda, and announced to the membership.  The Board is not allowed to discuss or vote on items not placed on the agenda.  He stated that Board resolutions passed on non-agenda items could be considered null and void if challenged and further opined that any action taken today could also be considered null.

                               The Board discussed this issue, other resolutions, meeting procedures, emergency meetings, etc.  There was a motion made, and seconded, "To adjourn the meeting until further notice."  The vote to approve was unanimous.

 

V.       The meeting  was adjourned at 9:28 AM.

Emergency Meeting Minutes

17 October, 2014

 

          The Board of Directors of Coronado Shores Condominium Association No. 10 held an emergency meeting on Friday, 17 October, 2014 in the La Princesa Tower Manager's office.  The meeting was called by President Richard Barr to discuss two (2) items of business only;  One (1) - Discuss protocols of future meetings and notice of same.  Two (2) - To hear report from the Design Committee's latest meeting.

 

I.        The meeting was called to order at 9:32 AM

 

II.      Those present:       Richard Barr, President

Patrick Maurer, Vice-President

Charles Lee, Secretary/Treasurer

Jim Nix, Director

 

Steve Bennett, Building Manager

IV.     Written and Oral Communication:

 

V.       The Board discussed protocols to be used in future meetings of the Board of Directors.  It will meet in with its attorney in executive session on Thursday, 23 October, 2014 at 1:00 PM to do so.

 

VI.     Design Committee report.  Mrs. Zobrist reported on the latest Design Committee meeting with Megan Bryan.  At that meeting, Ms. Bryan was told that the Board authorized a building remodel budget of no more than 3 million dollars.  She was also requested to create display boards of design renderings and materials to display in the common areas for homeowners to see.  These will be available prior to the holiday season.

          Mrs. Zobrist also reported that Ms. Bryan is seeking bids for the project from 3 general contracting firms, White Construction, Bycor and Turner.  The Board requested that the Design Committee get copies of Ms. Bryan's request for

Executive Meeting Minutes

23 October, 2014

 

          The Board of Directors of Coronado Shores Condominium Association No. 10 held an executive meeting to discuss Civil Code protocols with its legal counsel on Thursday, 23 October, 2014.  The meeting was held in the La Princesa Tower Manager's office.

 

I.        The meeting was called to order at 1:08 PM

 

II.      Those present:       Richard Barr, President

Patrick Maurer, Vice-President

Charles Lee, Secretary/Treasurer

Jim Nix, Director

Susan Shovers, via telecom

 

Steve Bennett, Building Manager

Jeff French, Green Bryant & French

 

III.     Mr. French briefed the Board on proper protocols to use regarding regular meeting and agenda posting.  He also explained procedures for executive and emergency meetings of the Board of Directors.  The Board also discussed the Association's Rules and Regulations for Remodel and its role as the Association Architectural Committee.

 

VI.       The meeting was adjourned at 2:19 PM.
